The translation for this name is unknown. "This was the king salmon fishing spot. The silt from the Chilkat River has been slowly filling in the Chilkat Inlet. At one point larger boats could go to Kascutt (Jones) point and past Yendistucky. A man shot the first moose at this point." [3] Moose are new arrivals to the Chilkat Valley, having arrived shortly after the Haines Highway was put in. At one time this was a port for large seagoing ships. A store used to do business with fisherman and trappers here. [5]
